• A very heartfelt congratulations to Becky & Randy who said their vows Saturday. It was such a joy to work with them and provide their flowers.

When we first met @bejela told me she wanted her flowers to be pretty but not too girly or froufrou. This ceremony arch was one of my favorite designs from their day. It perfectly fits Becky's pretty but not girly requirement. And, I love how it reminds me of climbing rose bushes in a cottage garden.

  • May this Friday find you spinning into your weekend with this level of joy. (Who else always gave their dresses the Twirl Test when they were young? 🙋) It is a wedding weekend here so I'm up to my eyeballs in flowers and so excited to be helping the sweet couple celebrate their marriage with beauty and intention. (I'll try to remember to drop some BTS into my stories.) So, what are your weekend plans? Do they include any joy bringing activities?

  • Happiest Valentines Day! And, an excited congratulations to @morganlaneb who won the engagement session giveaway with @mikayladawnphotography, @judeandjael, @gritandgrey, @ashleysorensen.hairstylist.

I'm going to be a little impulsive ... some of you hustled extra hard for those entries. While we could only have one winner, your efforts were seen and I was so humbled by your excitement. You are all awesome! To show my appreciation, if you entered this contest, and you select me as your wedding florist/planner then I'll add a gift to your package. Just mention this post when you inquire.

So how did you all celebrate Valentines?

  • Sundays are for rest, and sometimes afternoon consultations. Which are almost as good as rest; I never tire of connecting w potential clients and hearing their stories.

Speaking of consultations ... Depending on your life stage wedding planning may be the first time you navigate purchasing customized services. And to further complicate things each professional has their own flavor and methods.

In my process I'm all about the personalized and curated. You don't get a wedding that "was so them!" by picking designs off a pre-set price list.

When you fill out my inquiry form the questions are about the big picture of your wedding and who you are as a couple.

Based on your inquiry I'll have some follow up questions that dig a little deeper into your goals and specific needs. This step is so vital as it reveals if I am going to be a good fit for your wedding or not before I ask you to invest time with me.

The next step, consultation, is my favorite. We'll chat over coffee or on the phone and you get to tell me all about your story and dreams. We'll discuss the specifics of your flower and/or planning needs.

As an organic conversation I can ask you the right questions as we chat; ruling out options that are irrelevant to your situation. Rather than forcing you to answer "NA" or "I don't know" over and over on a multi-page form about your design preferences (sizes, colors, flowers, and containers). After listening to, or even helping you discover, your taste and style I take all that information, the specific and the vauge, and craft the most beautiful and meaningful solutions for your unique set of circumstances.

  • Do you have a color that's not a #favoritecolor, you don't think of it first, but you find it plays a consistent supporting role in your fashion or home? Maybe you pick up pillows, tchotchke, or prints that feature that shade? It's part of your life palette.

Yellow is that color for me. I was surprised and thrilled when Rhi noticed and included it in the palette for my 1-on-1 workshop. I don't consciously choose yellow like I select blue. Maybe it picks me?

It was an accent color in our wedding and can usually be found in some shade in our home. It's a little too audacious to hold top billing in my favorites; but all the mellow, subtle blues I pick need the balance of little sunshine, a reminder not to take everything quite so seriously. (Yes, I get the irony of writing a contemplative post about color. 😂) So, what is that color for you? And, if you haven't already, you should consider weaving it into your wedding. It likely compliments the colors you have already choosen and it will bring your design closer to your unique style and further from a Pinterest/trends cookie cutter wedding.

  • Hey all you Engagement Giveaway followers! I can't wait to meet and dream with our winning couple. Are you counting down?! There are many new faces, and wish I could actually sit down to coffee with each of you and hear your story. Since that's unlikely (and impractical 😂?) I'm sharing a little about who I am and what I do. But, hey if you want to do coffee, share something about yourself in the comments or by DM, I'd love that!

I am a boutique wedding florist and planner who absolutely delights in assisting engaged couples sort through all the expectations and inspiration to cultivate a marriage celebration that is as meaningful as it is beautiful.

Boutique means I offer highly personalized service to only about 15 couples a year; mostly flowers and styling, with a handful of clients also utilizing my partial or full planning services.

Why so few weddings? This is the level that allows me to serve my clients really well, as individuals, not just as "the May 19th wedding with peonies". And, also love and serve my family well.

Speaking of family, my family hats include ...
- Wife to the only man I ever dated. Love it or think it's foolish, that's our story and we are now 16yrs into our adveture!
- #boymom of two wild but sweet creatures (9 and 5yrs). Yes, they keep me busy. And, yes, I'm already worried about always being "the mother-in-law." I grew up in S. OR (a totally different world than Portland) and a few years ago we moved to West Texas to be near family. We are especially loving the big hearts of Texans and the stunning sunrises/sunsets. We love our life here. And, while I mostly work in West Texas I am always game for travel!

That's (more than) enough about me. What are you most looking forward to in your wedding flowers? Or how are you making your wedding meaningful?
